  • Why is my pump not responding to the input signal?

    If your pump does not respond to your chosen input signal, reference the pump manual for instruction and check the following on the pump and correct if necessary.

    • Is the wiring is secure and connected to the correct terminals for the input signal?
    • Is the mode that you have selected responds to the signal you are providing?
    • For 0-10VDC or 4-20mA signals, is the the input signal calibration correct in the Calibration menu?

    If this doesn’t resolve the issue then check your signal source to ensure that the intended signal is being sent.

  • Can I run more than one pump with the same signal source?

    Yes, for certain signal types and modes:

    • 4-20mA input signal can be wired between the components in a loop to control two pumps for 4-20mA mode.
    • Dry contact signal can be repeated to a second pump or device with an output relay for Pulse and PPM Feed: Flow Switch modes.

  • Does the Stennicator require power?

    The Stennicator requires 110-120VAC power to operate and is activated by a dry contact water meter.

     

  • What type of water meter can be installed?

    The Stennicator works with a dry contact (pulse) water meter.

  • Can the output be adjusted?

    The pump output is not adjustable, it injects at a fixed ratio of 1:128 (1 ounce per 1 gallon) based on the water meter pulse rate.

  • What are the available pulse rate settings on the pump?

    The settings on the Stennicator pulse dial are labeled I PPG, 10 PPG and 1 PPL. The pump accepts a signal from a water meter providing a dry contact rate of 1 or 10 pulses per gallon, or 1 pulse per liter and proportionally injects directly into the water line at a rate of 1:128 to treat process flow rates up to 2.7 gallons per minute (162 gallons per hour).

  • How long is the prime cycle?

    After setting the dial to PRIME, there is a 5 second delay before the pump starts to run. After the delay, the prime setting initiates a 60 second run cycle at maximum speed. At the end of the prime cycle, the pump will stop and will remain stopped until it is set to a contacting rate.

  • What does the pump do in Standby?

    When the pump is placed in the standby setting (STBY), it will not dose when it receives a signal from the water meter. The signal from the water meter will continue to repeat.

  • What happens if the pump receives a pulse while already dosing?

    If the pump receives a pulse while dosing the pump will not respond or “miss” this pulse.  However, the repeater relay will continue to repeat the signal without issue.

  • How can I get more flow?

    The volume can be doubled by using 2 Stennicator pumps to keep pace at higher flow rates. By properly wiring the signal cables each pump will deliver at a ratio of 1:256 (0.5 oz. per gallon) to achieve a ratio of 1:128 (1 oz. per gallon). This will allow a ratio of 1:128 up to flows of 5.4 gallons per minute.

  • Can the Econ T be programmed to run 24 hours/7 days a week?

    The integral timer provides flexible 7-day, 24-event control capability for varied schedules. Each separate event can run from a minimum of 1 minute to a maximum of 23 hours and 59 minutes within each program.

  • What happens if the pump loses power?

    The Econ T & TD Series pumps use an internal battery to maintain the internal time and set timers.  If the pump loses power, when it regains power it will wait until the next “on” time or run if in the power was regained during an “on” time.

  • How often should I change the internal backup battery?

    The pump uses a single CR 1220 3V lithium battery to maintain the internal time and should be changed annually.  You have 5 seconds from removing the old battery to installing the new battery, otherwise the internal time and set timers will be lost.

  • What is the estimated battery life of the Econ TD Battery Powered pump?

    When using new, premium quality D-cell batteries, the battery life will be approximately 90 days when running once per day for ten minutes at room temperature (75°F) and pumping a low viscosity solution to atmospheric pressure (0 psi).  See the Econ TD Manual for more information.

  • Do I need my water meter to match my pipe size?

    Water meters should be sized by the system flow rate, not by the pipe size alone, and comply with all city or state regulations. Refer to the manufacturer’s water meter manual for sizing guidelines.
