Stenner offers a dry contact flow switch compatible with the Econ FP pump for either a PVC tee or copper pipe installation.
In residential or light commercial applications, water treatment professionals can use a metering pump activated by a flow switch for disinfection, oxidation or pH adjustment. Stenner's compact Econ FP peristaltic metering pump is designed to interface with a two wire flow switch that accepts a dry contact.
The flow switch for PVC or copper are both a two wire, paddle style with glass fiber reinforced plastic construction. The design uses a magnetic force to reset the paddle so spring fatigue is eliminated. A separate wiring harness is supplied with the Econ FP pump for an easy connection to the dry contact flow switch. A wiring illustration is illustrated in the manual, click here.
The flow switch for PVC includes a glue-in adapter for easy mounting to a standard PVC slip fit tee. The nominal activation points are based on installation in to a Spears 3/4" or 1" schedule 80 PVC tee. The activation points are 1.2 gallons per minute for 3/4" and 1.9 gallons per minute for the 1" flow switch.
The flow switch for copper has an adapter for soldering to copper pipe. The nominal activation points are based on installation in to an industry standard, smooth 3/4" or 1" copper pipe. The activation points are 1.2 gallons per minute for 3/4" and 1.9 gallons per minute for the 1".
Not just for a flow switch; the Econ FP pump can also interface with a dry contact water meter or a 12-24 VAC/VDC signal from a water softener or other type of control equipment. All Stenner peristaltic metering pumps are self-priming and do not lose prime from gaseous solutions.
