APPLICATIONS

Process Water Treatment, Process Additives

Stenner peristaltic metering pumps inject solutions such as hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite for oxidation or sanitization to address undesirable conditions in the water supply.  The process water treatment produces the quality of water necessary for a specific industrial process.

The industrial or manufacturing process may require chemical additives to be introduced at specific injection rates and Stenner pumps provide reliable and accurate injection.  The chemical additives are usually specific to the needs of the manufacturing or industrial process.

Corrosion and Scale Control

Corrosion damage to pipes can lead to leaks and the formation of scale on the inside of pipes which reduces the area available to carry water. Injection of polyphosphates as an anti-scalant is a popular solution for corrosion control. Polyphosphate can be used full strength or diluted with soft water to make a solution of suitable strength for desired residual.

pH Adjustment

The pH level in water largely impacts how the water will affect equipment, health or an industrial process. In addition, oxidation can be impaired by the pH level.  In processing plants, low pH water can be corrosive to pipes, valves and fittings and high pH water can cause scale to form to clog the pipes. In some systems, oxidizers are injected to break down organic compounds, flocculants are used to form large particles for simple filtration, and acids or alkalines can be introduced for pH adjustment. Stenner pumps offer activation options for injecting sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, and acidic products for pH adjustment.

Wastewater Treatment

In some areas, to comply with environmental regulations, the wastewater from the processing method must be treated before discharging it to the drain or septic systems. Often the wastewater needs pH adjustment before it can safely return to the environment.

Versatility in Chemical Injection

Built to NEMA 4X standards, the S Series offers efficient interface with process control systems. Operational modes include scalable, invertible 4-20mA or 0-10VDC input, Hall Effect (frequency), PPM Feed, Pulse and Timer functions. Program up to three output relays to respond to conditions such as tube leak or transfer operation to a backup pump. The pump tube’s life expectancy is programmable to initiate a tube change indicator on the operating display when the set time is reached.

Depending the required flow rate and back pressure requirements, and proportional metering need, Stenner has a complete product lineup to satisfy your demands:
